It’s important to be ale to chain attacks together in every martial art. Each time an opponent avoids one attack it leads to an opening for another. The arm bar and the triangle chain together like the jab and cross in boxing. Both attacks available from the closed guard, the triangle is a natural secondary attack from the arm bar. A common arm bar defense is to stack the attacker and work to free your arm from their hips. In this video, Kevin shows how to attack the neck with a triangle when our opponent goes to pull their arm out of the arm bar. He then shows that you can return to the arm bar after the triangle by attacking the other arm. Our Poughkeepsie Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes take you step by step to make sure that you can be transitioning between attacks like a professional.
